Anna Oppermann’s room-filling installations, developed over a number of years, are to be understood as open visual and thought processes that are exemplary and at the same time unique for the art of the 1970s.

Oppermann’s ensembles are created through the accumulation and associative or analytical arrangement of several hundred individual parts: found, collected or created for the work. In the case of „Being different („Somehow she’s so different…“)“ the condensation and repetition of pictorial elements photographed from different perspectives seems almost manic.
