Entitled „The imminence of poetics“, this edition of the Biennale adopted the metaphor of the constellation as a curatorial proposal and established discursive articulations between past and present; centre and periphery; object and language. With a large number of works by each artist, the exhibition privileged Latin American artists and paid homage to Arthur Bispo do Rosário and Waldemar Cordeiro. The Mobile Radio project set up a radio station in the mezzanine of the pavilion, with programming that extended throughout the exhibition period.
