Natural science, philosophy and art create an image of the world in which all living and material things are closely interwoven across time and space. This „post-disciplinary“ understanding, which radically changes our view of nature and man, can be experienced sensually in the choreographed course of the art project. To this end, PLANETARY SKINS interweaves quantum physics and Lucretius‘ philosophical poem „De Rerum Natura,“ cosmology and microorganisms, soils and atmospheres, virtual architectures and sociocultural patterns, biofeedback and poetic fictions, digital and physical presences.

The virtual becomes a membrane that brings together real places and people across three continents. Local ambivalences, conflicts, and potentials resonate and respond to phenomena caused by technological developments, social dislocations, and ecological crises worldwide. From the overlapping of the diverse perspectives that PLANETARY SKINS gathers, an imagination of collectivity emerges that points beyond purely human forms of communality: aren’t we all radical matter?
