The brain is one of the last great mysteries of the human body.
What do we actually have in our heads and how do we imagine the processes in the brain? Is our ego something other than our body, and how do we make sense of the world around us? What will the brain of the future look like? Will we become computerized cyborgs? Many disciplines need to work together to approach these questions. Brain research is constantly providing us with the latest findings, but there are still many unresolved questions. Art can help us to think freely about thinking and feeling, consciousness and perception, memory and dreams. In this exhibition, associatively linked works from art and cultural history meet scientific research in order to explore the human brain – like an unknown territory – and learn to understand it better.
