Drawing heavily on the stories of the Kamba people told by his grandmother, he explores how history and identity are intertwined, looking at the past the present and the space in between. His works are multifaceted and characterised by rich layers, offering fragments to be pieced together slowly with stitching. The lengthy research process employed in the making of the works is mirrored in the experience of viewing them, „it’s like layers of history“.

In his recent body of work he is exploring relationships. Life experiences that show on our bodies, stitches that leave scars on us, showing much what we have gone through as people.
